Organized and performed with violinist Virgil Boutelist-Taft a benefit concert for Refugees International on April 24, 2018 at the invitation of award-winning actor and honorary member of RI, Sam Waterston and film score composer Paul Cantelon. The occasion drew attention to the plight of refugees and displaced people around the world and honored three outstanding humanitarians who worked to improve the lives of refugees and to defend their rights. The honorees were: Chobani Founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya who received the McCall-Pierpaoli Humanitarian Award; Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota who received the Congressional Leadership Award; and Iraq Health Access Organization Executive Director Hala al-Sarraf, who received the Richard C. Holbrooke Award.
