About the Duo
Violist Elias Goldstein and pianist Angela Draghicescu, have been performing together since 2017. They have given masterclasses throughout Europe, Latin America and North America avidly promoting the viola - piano repertoire.
Highlights of their 2020-21 season included performances with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Noah Bendix-Balgley and Stephan Koncz at the George Enescu International Festival, and working on a new album release for Bis Records with works by Enescu, Prokofiev, Smetana, and Bartok to be released in 2024.
MELANCONICO (2019)
A unique recording of works for violin and piano by Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, and George Enescu transcribed for viola by Elias Goldstein. The album contains the world premiere arrangement of Enescu’s 3rd violin sonata, aiming to showcase a different take on a well renowned staple of the violin literature.
